Teacher Training 2024

200 HR CERTIFIED CONTEMPORARY VINYASA YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

START DATE – APRIL 2024

FINISH DATE – MARCH 2025

The Core Course is 20 Days (weekends) + Friday evenings over a 12 month period each module is taught over a weekend each month, however there will be an integration break during the summer and winter holidays.

The vision of this training is on the individual and how they develop & evolve as human beings teaching yoga. We are training people to teach yoga through discovering their unique talents and potential. In each module we have a discovery circle which is a space for each participant to grow, share and become aware of their potential, power and choices. This is a foundation in teaching yoga as a service, grounded in truth, teaching from the heart, awakening spirit and empowering people. To teach yoga is a responsibility, we can learn all the details of the teaching practice but if we are not aware primarily of the impact of our own journey, our presence in the class and where we are teaching from, our guidance can not be truly effective, sensitive and whole. Each graduate will feel confident and empowered to teach beginners/open level vinyasa yoga class. They will be equipped with the skills to create their own sequences and classes incorporating modifications and specific themes. Each participant will be aware and sensitive to the needs of each class as a whole and be conscious of how to be all inclusive in a class setting.

The course covers 180 hrs of contact time, 68 percent of which is taught by the course leader Lucy Beckwith. The rest of the course is taught by ashtanga mysore and vinyasa specialist Suzel Braun and the anatomy modules by Chiropractor Esther Fernandez and specialist in clinical movement & exercise for rehabilitation and performance Daniela Miotto. This training highlights the importance of the practice of teaching through experience, therefore teaching practice comprises nearly 60 percent of the training. Alongside the core course, participants will be asked to log the classes they attend over the duration of the year, at a minimum participants are expected to practice 3 hours per week plus 10 hours observation of classes (60 percent beginners classes) Participants will be encouraged to find a mentor of their choice, a qualified yoga instructor with which they can, at an agreed moment, also assist in these classes on a training level basis.
